Four albums from Gail Davies appearing on CD for the first time. Including 13 charting singles from the early 1980s.
Gail Davies was born Patricia Gail Dickerson on 5th June 1948 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Beginning her career as a session singer in Los Angeles, she added her voice to recordings by Hoyt Axton, Neil Young and Glen Campbell. She was befriended by Joni Mitchell and Emmylou Harris, toured with Roger Miller and briefly sought out a career as a jazz singer.
In the mid-1970s Davies moved to Nashville and after a succession of chart recordings in the early 1980s she raised the bar for females in Country Music with her songwriting and production skills. Henry Lewy, from her time in LA, was her influence in music production, helping her to establish herself as one of country's most influential females. She was the first woman to be credited with taking control of her own music and producing her own albums.
